LOS SANTOS, SA (October 25, 2025) — The Los Santos Police Department (LSPD) has launched an extensive investigation following the discovery of a cache of firearms, explosives components, and narcotics in a downtown dumpster. The recovery was initiated after a K9 Division officer received a mysterious letter directing them to the location.
According to police officials, the officer retrieved the letter from Mission Row Police Department after being informed by a desk sergeant that it had arrived by mail. The officer followed the directions outlined in the correspondence and discovered a black duffel bag containing suspected narcotics inside a dumpster. The officer immediately secured the area and notified supervisory and investigative personnel, prompting the response of detectives from the Major Crimes and Street Crimes units.
The letter, ominously signed “I am the VoxUmbra,” has become a focal point of the ongoing investigation. Police confirmed that no officers were placed in immediate danger during the discovery and recovery process. The area was secured while evidence collection teams processed the scene.
Evidence Recovered
Investigators reported the seizure of a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and narcotics. Among the recovered materials were:
- Multiple pistols, including several un-serialized “ghost guns” pending forensic analysis
- Revolvers, semi-automatic handguns, and tactical-style shotguns
- Ammunition of various calibers and heavy armor plates
- Thermite and assorted electronic storage devices consistent with illicit data use.
Narcotics included:
- Multiple one-kilogram cocaine bricks and additional bulk quantities
- Crack cocaine, methamphetamine, MDMA (ecstasy), and cannabis products
- Dozens of prescription opioid bottles, believed to be oxycodone
- Fraudulent identity documents and driver’s licenses linked to organized criminal activity
All items have been cataloged and submitted to LSPD evidence custody for forensic examination.
Investigation Ongoing
The LSPD Major Crimes Division and Street Crimes Unit are jointly handling the investigation. Authorities are working to determine who is responsible for the placement of the items and whether there is a connection to the individual identifying as “VoxUmbra.”
At present, there are no publicly identified suspects. Investigators urge anyone with information or who observed suspicious behavior near the 040 block of South Shambles Street on or before October 24 to contact the LSPD Major Crimes Division or submit an anonymous tip.
Public Safety Reminder
Police officials have reiterated a safety warning to residents:
“If you encounter suspicious packages, duffel bags, or unknown containers in public areas, do not touch or move them. Keep a safe distance and contact local law enforcement immediately,” said Lead Public Information Officer Adam V.
The LSPD continues to emphasize vigilance as the investigation into the “VoxUmbra” letter and the origins of the cache unfolds.
