LOS SANTOS — Chaos erupted late Friday evening outside Benny’s Original Motor Works when a drive-by shooting broke out, sending customers and bystanders running for cover. Witnesses reported hearing a rapid burst of automatic gunfire that echoed through the district, leaving the scene in panic and confusion.
According to early reports, multiple rounds were fired from a moving vehicle that sped past the auto shop. At least a few customers were inside Benny’s at the time of the shooting, though no serious injuries have been confirmed by authorities as of this writing.
Within moments, Los Santos Police Department (LSPD) units swarmed the area, setting up a perimeter around the popular custom garage. Officers were seen blocking off nearby intersections as detectives and crime scene technicians worked to collect shell casings and surveillance footage from surrounding businesses.
“It sounded like a war zone,” one witness told The Vinewood Journal. “We just heard the shots and hit the floor. Nobody knew where it was coming from.”
The identity of the shooter or shooters remains unknown, and investigators have yet to release a description of the suspect vehicle. Police are urging anyone with information or dashcam footage from the area to contact the LSPD’s Major Crimes Division.
As of now, the motive for the attack is unclear. Benny’s, known for its high-end vehicle modifications, has been a longtime hub for car enthusiasts across Los Santos making the incident all the more unsettling for the local community.
Authorities continue to investigate, and the area has since reopened to the public.
The Vinewood Journal will provide updates as more information becomes available.
