Strange messages leave residents wondering who is behind them — and what they’re supposed to mean

LOS SANTOS, San Andreas — After a period away from publication, The Vinewood Journal returns to a city that, apparently, has only gotten stranger.
Over the past several days, unusual handwritten signs have begun appearing throughout Los Santos and other parts of San Andreas. Attached to light poles, street signs and other public fixtures, the messages range from confusing to outright bizarre.
One message in particular has caught the attention of residents:
“STOP PUTTING COCAINE IN MY WATER! I WANT TO FEEL HUNGRY AGAIN!”
A man dressed in purple was recently spotted standing beside one of the signs at a Los Santos intersection. Whether he placed the sign himself, supports its message, or simply happened to find the situation amusing remains unclear.
And that is about where the facts end.
There has been no known evidence suggesting that cocaine — or anything else unusual — is being deliberately added to the Los Santos water supply. It is also unclear whether the signs are meant to be taken seriously at all.
What makes the situation more interesting is that this does not appear to be an isolated incident. Similar signs have reportedly surfaced elsewhere around the city and across San Andreas, raising questions about whether they are the work of one person, an organized group, or simply a growing joke being copied by others.
So far, nobody has publicly claimed responsibility.
The wording of the signs has led to plenty of theories. Some residents believe they are political satire. Others think they could be advertisements for something yet to be revealed. Another possibility is considerably simpler: someone in Los Santos has a lot of cardboard, a marker, and something they desperately want everyone else to know.
Whatever the explanation, the signs are doing exactly what mysterious signs tend to do in Los Santos — getting people to stop, look and ask questions.
The Vinewood Journal will be following their appearances and attempting to determine whether there is actually a story behind them.
For now, we have two questions:
Who keeps putting up the signs?
And perhaps more importantly:
Why aren’t they hungry?
