San Andreas — The Office of Lieutenant Governor Natalie Bennett has provided an update to the Vinewood Journal regarding her recovery following last week’s violent incident in Roxwood.
According to the statement, Lieutenant Governor Bennett is recovering well after undergoing surgery for injuries sustained during the attack. Her medical team reports steady progress, and she is scheduled to be released from hospital care tomorrow to continue her recovery at home.
“Out of an abundance of caution, she will not be making public appearances in the near future,” the statement reads, though it notes that her office remains fully operational and committed to serving the people of San Andreas. The Lieutenant Governor and her family expressed gratitude to medical professionals, law enforcement, and security personnel for their care and swift response, as well as to the public for their outpouring of support.
This update comes just days after Bennett and members of her team were targeted in a brazen shooting near Roxwood Airport. While departing a property viewing for the future Lieutenant Governor’s Mansion, her motorcade was attacked. A round struck her vehicle, wounding her in the chest. She was evacuated by her protective detail and airlifted for emergency care.
Also injured in the incident was Mr. Donald Orange of Dynasty 8 property management, who sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. Law enforcement officers were also fired upon during the encounter before ultimately subduing and capturing the suspect.
The Lieutenant Governor’s Office has praised the swift, decisive actions of her security detail and the responding law enforcement agencies, crediting their efforts with ensuring the safety of both Bennett and Orange, as well as the rapid capture of the gunman.
Bennett’s release from the hospital marks an encouraging step forward after the attempt on her life. Her office has pledged to provide further updates as appropriate while she continues her recovery.
